Perennial plant, thick fleshy stems up to 50cm tall with large leaves and small, yellowish flowers arranged like an umbrella, producing orange seeds. It is an edible plant, with a salty celery flavour and a significant vitamin C content. Well documented to have been traditionally consumed for abortions in women and animals, and it is believed that the plant was brought from The Savage Islands for that purpose.
